Old Hickory Lake Weekly Fishing Report: 1-25-09

Fishing over all on Old Hickory lake is OK. Anglers say that the bass bite is slow. Catfish are still biting best at the edge of the main river channel on shad minnows and cut bait. The crappie and bluegill bite is decent around structure or in creek and river channels, and are best caught in 28-30 feet of water. Sauger, white bass and walleye are being caught below the dam.

The headwater elevation is 445.20 feet above mean sea level, and the tail water is 394.70 feet above M.S.L. The lake water is cloudy. The morning surface water temperature at the Rockland fishing pier is around 41.4ยบ F.

Normal summer pool and normal winter pool is 445.00 feet above mean sea level.
